PROM is a term used in obstetrics. It is the English acronym Prelabor Rupture Of Membranes, which translates into Czech as premature outflow of amniotic fluid.
You can also see this term in the following combinations:
- pPROM = outflow of amniotic fluid before the due date of delivery (p = preterm),
- tPROM = outflow of amniotic fluid at term of birth (t = term).
