Lhermitte's sign (décharge électrique) is positive if the patient complains of pain that is felt as "whipping" by an electric current and propagates to the lower limbs when the head is bent forward as much as possible. The symptom can be positive, for example, in multiple sclerosis , tabes dorsalis , nutritional deficiencies ( vitamin E or B12 , copper ), cervical spondylosis , stenosis of the cervical spinal canal or Chiari malformation.
