Azotemia

We use the term azotemia to refer to increased levels of urea, nitrate and creatinine in the blood due to a decrease in GFR. It can be divided into prerenal (e.g. hypoperfusion of the kidnes), renal and postrenal (obstruction in the outflow tract).
