Normal Value[edit | edit source]
Normal value is < 4 ng/ml, but with exceptions(!), this value changes with age of man.
AGE | MEDIAN (ng/ml) | Limit value (ng/ml) |
---|---|---|
40–49 | 0,7 | 2,5 |
50–59 | 0,9 | 3,5 |
60–69 | 1,4 | 4,5 |
>70 | 1,4 | 6,5 |
The value of PSA can be artificially elevated by prostatitis (infection), bicycling, ejaculation, instrumental examination of male urethra or examination of prostate by DRE.[1]
