Arthroscopy (abbreviated as ASK) is an endoscopic diagnostic, and simultaneously a therapeutic, method used for joint diseases and injuries (most often knee joint and shoulder joint).

Principle[edit | edit source]

  • The joint is filled with a sterile solution and after the introduction of the endoscope, it is possible to examine and treat the joint cavity.
  • Advantages: mini-invasive method, less postoperative pain, faster rehabilitation.
  • Disadvantages: price, erudition.
