25 - Hydroxycholecalciferol
From WikiLectures
25-hydroxycholecalciferol is the predominant form of vitamin D 3 in the blood. It is formed in the liver by hydroxylation (an enzyme of the endoplasmic reticulum vitamin D 3 -25-hydroxylase). It is absorbed from the blood by the kidneys (and partly by the bone marrow and placenta) and further hydroxylated to calcitriol.
