Ameloblastic fibroma

Ameloblastic fibroma is a benign jaw tumor of childhood (up to 25 years).
Properties[edit | edit source]
- rare
- grows slowly, enlarges the jaw (more often the mandible)
- or
- frequent occurrence in the landscape of canines and molars
- grows centrally in the bone, grows expansively (corticalis often disappear completely)
- sometimes recurring
- on X-ray it looks like a limited brightening
- formed by proliferating epithelium, surrounded by mesenchymal tissue
Microscopy[edit | edit source]
- islets of cells variously formed in the fine connective tissue (alveolar, branching trees, etc.)
- around sparse reticulum / fine connective tissue
