Anhidrosis

Anhidrosis is a condition in which the patient is either unable to produce sweat or produces it to a reduced extent (also hypohidrosis). It is dangerous when the body temperature rises, when due to the inability of the body to cool down sufficiently, it can lead to the so-called hyperpyrexia. This occurs, for example, during physical exertion or staying in a warm environment. Anhydrosis accompanies diseases such as Fabry disease or Horner's syndrome. It is also part of the manifestations of ectodermal dysplasia syndrome, otherwise called anhidrosis hypotrichotica (also Christ-Siemens-Touraine syndrome).
