Aquired defects of the auricle
From WikiLectures
Defects resulting from accidents[edit | edit source]
- careful débridement of the wound, an effort to preserve intact cartilage
- reconstructive procedures: composite graft, covering of exposed cartilage with temporoparietal flap, insertion of cartilage into subcutaneous pocket, replantation (rich vascularization is an advantage)
For more information see Ear injuries.
Defects resulting from tumor removal[edit | edit source]
- sickle + star-shaped excision → reduction of auricle x without deformities
