Edema[edit | edit source]

Fluid accumulation in the brain - increase in brain volume - due to the pressure-volume curve increase in intracranial pressure

Classification

  • vasogenic
  • cytotoxic
  • osmotic
  • hydrostatic
  • ischemic (combination of vasogenic and cytotoxic)

Consequences - intracranial hypertension - restriction of blood flow to the brain! Symptoms identical to intracranial hypertension.

  • Vývoj v průběhu života (novorozenci)
  • Poruchy – záněty, ischemie, ozáření
  • Zvýšení systémového tlaku
  • Změny osmolality ECT (otrava vodou)
  • Prostupnost pro léky (ATB, dopamin)
