Chemotaxis
From WikiLectures
Chemotaxis is the movement of cells, most often macrophages, in a certain direction based on a chemical stimulus.
We distinguish two types of chemotaxis:
- Positive chemotaxis - the movement of cells towards a chemical stimulus.
- Negative chemotaxis - the movement of cells away from the chemical stimulus.
