Dermatological history
From WikiLectures
1. Present condition There are 3 basic questions to be asked by the physician:
- How long the lesions are present?
- Where does the problem first appear?
- Are there any symptoms? (the typical symptoms of dermatological disorders are pain and itch)
2. Pharmacological history
- the majority of the dermatological conditions occur as a result of adverse drug reactions
3. General medical history
- Many systemic disorders are associated with dermatological manifestations
4. Occupational history
5. Travel history
6. Family history
- Many conditions are caused by genetic defects
7. Patient's thoughts
- Let the patient tell you his thoughts about his condition. They will probably give you the diagnosis themselves.
