Elimination of infection

Elimination of a disease is a state of permanent territorial interruption of the process of disease spread. The emergence of sporadically introduced diseases is possible.[1]
Examples in the Czech Republic:
- 1960 poliomyelitis elimination;
- 1969 elimination of diphtheria.
