Musculus extensor hallucis brevis

Beginning: dorsal side of the calcaneus, adjacent ligaments of the tarsus

Attachment: dorsal aponeurosis of the thumb

Innervation: nervus fibularis profundus (L₄–S₁)

Function: extension of the metatarsophalangeal and interphalangeal joints of the thumb
