Extracellular fluid

Extracellular fluid (ECT) is the fluid in the body stored outside the cells. It makes up about 20% of the total body weight. The main cation of ECT is Na+, the main anion is Cl-.
ECT is further divided into: interstitial fluid, plasma and transcellular fluid.
