Funnelling

Funnelling is the name for the dilation of the internal os during ultrasound cervicometry in gynecology. It is a sign of imminent premature birth.
Description of the finding (the T-Y-V-U sequence assigns a letter corresponding to the shape of the cervix during ultrasound examination):
- T – normal finding (closed internal os)
- Y – starting opening
- V - continuous opening
- U – open throat
