Gender identity disorders

From WikiLectures

This is sexual deviance. The etiology is unclear, most likely it is the result of a complex ontogenetic development. Prenatal androgens play a role here in a certain sense.

Transsexualism[edit | edit source]

It is dissatisfaction with one's own anatomical sex. It is an effort to get the opposite sex. In order to establish a diagnosis, it is necessary to follow the person in question for at least 2 years. This is not transvetism!!!

Dual role transvetism[edit | edit source]

It is characterized by changing into the clothes of the opposite sex without sexual excitement.

Gender identity disorder in childhood[edit | edit source]

It always appears for the first time before puberty. The person wishes to be of the opposite sex. It is more common in boys, the disorder is permanent. About a third of them are homosexuals.
