Leukogram
This is a differential blood count. With the leukogram, we examine the blood count of white blood cells, i.e. percentage representation of white blood cell types (neutrophil rods, neutrophil segment, eosinophilic leukocyte, basophilic leukocyte, lymphocyte and monocyte).
Procedure[edit | edit source]
The blood smear is viewed meandering. The types of leukocytes found are gradually recorded in a 10-column table. A total of 10 structures are always recorded in one column. Then we move in the field of view and again look for leukocytes and continue writing in the next column. A total of 100 leukocytes are counted. Finally, we are able to read the percentage representation of individual types of white blood cells from the table.
