Introduction[edit | edit source]

Liposuctor is a device that is used to suck fat.

Characteristics[edit | edit source]

  • The device itself is an electric motor-driven unit that generates negative pressure. The device includes a pair of containers for aspirated fat. Containers for aspirated contents are transparent, so that the rate of bleeding can be continuously checked. There is a volume scale on the wall of the container, which enables accurate reading of the amount of fat extracted.
  • The adipose tissue is drained from the liposuction cannula into the container by a connecting hose. Cannulas are easily replaceable, differing in diameter, tip shape, curvature, and the number and placement of holes. While the diameter of the cannula is of fundamental importance for the result of liposuction, other properties of the cannula are of secondary importance.
  • The ultrasonic liposuctor is additionally equipped with an ultrasonic energy generator. Energy is transferred by a connecting cable to the end of a special cannula, from the tip of which the ultrasound energy acts on the adjacent tissue.
  • Newer and better equipped liposuctors include a built-in overpressure pump, which enables faster application of the injection fluid into the subcutaneous tissue. A big advantage is the shortening of the operation time.
