Lysozyme

Lysozyme (5-hydroxy-tryptamine) is an enzyme that catalyzes the breakdown of polysaccharide chains in bacterial cell walls, which can lead to cell breakdown.
The course of the reaction: lysozyme catalyzes hydrolysis, which hardly occurs at room temperature due to high activation energy. The active site of lysozyme is able to hold up to 6 sugar residues. Lysozyme binds to the substrate via non-covalent bonds.
