Beginning: dorsal side of the calcaneus, adjacent ligaments of the tarsus
Attachment: dorsal aponeurosis of the thumb
Innervation: nervus fibularis profundus (L4–S1)
Function: extension of the metatarsophalangeal and interphalangeal joints of the thumb
