Musculus gluteus minimus

gluteus minimus muscle

Origin: external surface of the iliac blade (between the linea glutea anterior and inferior )

Insertion: trochanter major femoris

Inervation: n. gluteus superior (z L₄−S₁)

Function: internal rotation, external rotation, abduction at the hip joint (functions like the gluteus medius muscle with less effect)
