Myeloblast

Myeloblast

Myeloblast is the first morphologically recognizable precursor granulopoiesis cell in the bone marrow. It has a large round core with little condensed chromatin and well-visible 3-5 nuclei. Compared to erythrocytes, it is about 2 times larger (14–20μm in diameter). There is only a very small border of the cytoplasm around the nucleus, which stains strongly basophilic and does not contain any granules. Sometimes a perinuclear halo may be noticeable. Myeloblast matures in promyelocyte.
