Nelson syndrome
From WikiLectures
A relatively rare pituitary adenoma that occurs in patients after adrenal removal, which is increasingly producing ACTH. As a result of adrenalectomy, feedback inhibition of CRH by cortisol is lost , thus increasing hypothalamic CRH secretion and thus ACTH overproduction.
The first symptoms may include visual field loss and hyperpigmentation.
