Ombrédann's disease

Ombrédann 's disease (amniotic ulcer disease) belongs to atypical congenital limb defects.
Definition
- disease acquired during intrauterine development
- believed to be the result of amniotic adhesions, but also the result of ulcers caused by a viral infection transmitted to the fetus
Clinical Picture
- semicircular to circular incisions on the limbs, varying in depth (from breaking the skin and subcutaneous tissue, through strangulation of the muscle layers to intrauterine amputation of the distal part of the limb)
