PACS
From WikiLectures
PACS is a technology enabling management, storage (archiving) and display of image documentation (i.e. images from X-ray methods, magnetic resonance, etc.). DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) is used as a standard and universal format for compressed image data. PACS consists of four components: image documentation, a secure network, target stations (computers, terminals) and data storage.
In the Czech Republic, this technology is used within the project ePACS.
