Proerythroblast
From WikiLectures
Proerythroblast is the first microscopically recognizable precursor of hematopoiesis. It is a relatively large cell, with a large round nucleus and one or two nucleoli. Free ribosomes in the cytoplasm cause mild basophilia. The next cell of the blood cell lineage is the basophilic erythroblast.
