Submandibular Triangle (Digastric Triangle)[edit | edit source]
An imaginary topographical triangle for purposes of location of its contents.
Borders:[edit | edit source]
- Superior - Inferior borders of the Mandible
- Anterior - Ant. belly of m. diagastricus
- Posterior - Post. belly of m. diagasticus
- Floor - m. mylohyoideus and m. hypoglossus
- Roof - Investing fascia

- Submandibular gland and duct
- Facial artery and vein
- Lingual artery and vein
- Hypoglossal nerve
- Submandibular lymph nodes
Carotid Triangle[edit | edit source]
Borders:[edit | edit source]
- Superior - Post. belly of m. diagastricus
- Anterior - Sup. belly of m. omohyoideus
- Posterior - m. sternocleidomastoideus

- Internal Jugular vein
- Bifurcation of the common carotid artery (at C4)
- Deep cervical lymph nodes
- Vagus nerve, hypoglossal nerve
- Deep sympathetic chain
