Toxemia

Toxemia is a condition in which toxins (but not bacteria) circulate in the blood. It is caused by infections when bacteria produce a lot of toxins (diphtheria, gas scabies, tetanus). Toxins have necrotic effects on mucous membranes (diphtheria), muscles (gas scabies), liver, kidneys.
