Trendelenburg position

The Trendelenburg position is a position on the back where the patient's pelvis is raised above head level. It is used in shock conditions to improve blood return and in surgery. The angle of inclination is in the range of 15-30 °.
The reverse Trendelenburg position on the other hand, lifts the upper half of the body, for better blood flow to the limbs in arterial diseases. The angle of inclination is usually in the range of 20-30 °.
