A form of primary malabsorption syndrome, linked to the tropical regions of Southeast Asia, India and the Caribbean.
Etiology[edit | edit source]
Not yet fully understood, probably a combination of factors. Climate burden, vitamin deficiency caused by a one-sided diet, infectious diseases and food toxins play a major role .
Clinical manifestation[edit | edit source]
- Longterm diarrhea,
- weight-loss,
- fatigue,
- megaloblastic anemia,
- general symptoms of malabsorption.
Diagnosis[edit | edit source]
In combination with anamnestic data and enterobiopsis.
Therapy[edit | edit source]
Climate change is needed, treatement with broad-spectrum antibiotics.
