Layers[edit | edit source]
Tunica mucosa[edit | edit source]
The mucosa consists of the transitional epithelium (elements with two or more nuclei) and lamina propria (thin to dense connective tissue).
Tunica muscularis[edit | edit source]
We recognize three layers of smooth muscle (similar to ductus deferens):
- inner and outer longitudinal, layer
- middle circular layer.
Tunica adventitia[edit | edit source]
Adventicia (anatomically ligament – paracystium) binds the bladder to other pelvic organs. It is missing on the surface of the bladder, which is covered with peritoneum (tunica serosa).
