Hepatosplenomegaly

Hepatosplenomegaly is a combination of hepatomegaly and splenomegaly, i.e., it is the enlargement of the liver and spleen.
It occurs in hematological diseases with accelerated extramedullary hematopoiesis. It also occurs in infectious diseases (infectious mononucleosis, malaria, tuberculosis, typhoid fever, brucellosis , intestinal leishmaniasis), cardiovascular diseases (right heart failure), metabolic diseases (Gaucher disease) or liver diseases (liver cirrhosis).
