Nanotubes are cylindrical nanoparticles, usually made of carbon. Their structure is similar to fullerens. Nanotubes are the basis of materials with favorable mechanical properties. By themselves, they are unsuitable as a means of transport, but sometimes it can be advantageous to combine them with liposomes.
