Pruritus

Pruritus or itching, is an unpleasant bothersome sensation leading to compulsive scratching. It affects the skin and adjacent mucous. Primary pruritus includes evidence without accompanying skin changes. It is often present in the elderly, also in cholestasis. Secondary pruritus refers to itching that accompanies different skin diseases.
