Chronic venous insufficiency[edit | edit source]
Dilatation of superficial veins:
- formation of varices (lower limbs, esophageal, hemorrhoids – external, internal).
Risk factors[edit | edit source]
- Heredity;
- obesity;
- pregnancy;
- oral contracepties;
- standing for a long time;
- lack of exercise, lack of movement;
- low fiber diet - constipation;
- smoking.
Complications[edit | edit source]
- Inflammation;
- thrombosis;
- shin ulcer - venous leg ulcer;
- rupture of the esophageal varices;
- formation of hemorrhoids.
Venous tromboembolic disease[edit | edit source]
Formation of Deep vein trombosis, pulmonary embolism.
Virchow's triad[edit | edit source]
- Endothelial disruption ;
- Slowed blood flow;
- increased clotting.
Thrombophlebitis x phlebothrombosis[edit | edit source]
