Bacitracin Susceptibility Test

The Bacitracin test is used to distinguish β-hemolytic streptococci. It can distinguish between Streptococcus pyogenes, which forms a zone of inhibition around the bacitracin disc, and Streptococcus agalactiae, which grows up to the disc.
Results:
- Positive – Streptococcus pyogenes
- Negative – Streptococcus agalactiae
