Nervus radialis

- is a strong nerve from the fasciculus posterior plexus brachialis (C5–C8, possibly Th1)
- initially stored on the posterior wall of the axilla behind the a. axilaris and behind the a. brachialis
- more distally it enters the sulcus n. radialis, between the medial and lateral heads musculus triceps brachii
- spirally wraps the body of the humerus together with the a. profunda brachii
- pierces the septum intermusculare brachii laterale and descends in the groove between the m. brachioradialis and m. brachialis
- final branches – ramus superficialis'' and ramus profundus

- nervus cutaneus brachii lateralis inferior
- innervates the lateral side of the arm
- nervus cutaneus brachii posterior – separates in axile
- innervates the skin on the back of the arm up to the elbow joint
- nervus cutaneus antebrachii posterior – separates in sulcus n. radialis, pierces fascia brachii between caput laterale and caput longum [[musculus triceps brachii|m. tricipitis brachii] ] and descends between the olecranon ulnae and the lateral epicondyle of the humerus to the back of the forearm
- innervates the skin up to the carpal region
- rami musculares
- on the arm they innervate m. triceps brachii, m. anconeus
- twigs for elbow joints
- for lateral forearm muscles (m. brachioradialis, m. extensor carpi radialis longus and brevis ) in the groove between m. brachialis and m. brachioradialis
- ramus superficialis n. radialis - runs together with a. radialis along m. brachioradialis in the septum separating ventral forearm muscles (m. pronator teres and m. flexor carpi radialis), in the distal third of the forearm runs under the tendon m. brachioradialis and on the dorsal side of the forearm it enters the subcutaneous tissue
- nervi digitales dorsales for thumb, index finger and radial edge of 3rd finger
- ramus profundus n. radialis - passes through the slit in the m. supinator, spirally wraps the proximal part of the radius on its dorsal side
- rr. musculares for extensors on the dorsal side of the forearm (m. supinator, [[musculus extensor digitorum|m. extensor digitorum] ], m. extensor carpi ulnaris, m. extensor digiti minimi, m. abductor pollicis longus and m. extensor indicis)
- nervus interosseus posterior – along the dorsal surface membrana interossea
- innervates the radius, ulna, membrana interossea, joint capsule radiocarpal and [[upper limb joints|hand joints] ]
